Corridors and Stairwells

Corridor Light Level Requirements

SCA Design recommendation is that corridors average 20 foot-candles at 18” AFF.

Corridors are typically lit with a recessed 2x2 style troffer. HE Williams offers several options to meet design and aesthetic requirements.

ap-22-grid.jpg

AP Series

Curved Lens for a soft appearance

Shallow recessing depth 3-3/4”

Integral Lutron Vive Sensor available (consult for other sensor options)

Grid or drywall mount available.

Typical SCA Part Number: AP-22-L30/835-DIM-UNV

100ft Corridor

AP Series Calculation using AP-22-L30/835-DIM-UNV meets SCA light level requirements at 10ft on center spacing well below design guide light level requirements.

AT3-24_Clipped.png

AT3 Series

Backlit curved lens provides uniform illumination for visual comfort.

Distinct straight floating center detail creates a highly-aesthetic presence.

Hinged door frame with optical assembly swings down to allow easy access from room side of fixture.

Integral Lutron Vive Sensor available (consult for other sensor options)

Grid or drywall mount available.

Typical SCA Part Number: AT3-22-L30/835-D-(L25)-DIM-UNV

AT3 HALLWAY CALC.png

100ft Corridor

Using the part number listed above the AT3 meets SCA design standard of 20fc while staying under the minimum LPD of .5w/sq. ft.This is done with an 8ft on center spacing.

het-24.1.png

HET Series

Highly efficient troffer designed to reduce fixture count and meet strict energy codes.

Output and power levels are highly customizable to meet energy code and design needs.

Typical SCA Part Number: HET-G-S22-L38/835-A-(L33)-DIM-UNV

100ft Corridor

The HET series is able to meet SCA luminance requirement with only 8 fixtures and well below the required LPD.

Vandal Resistance

There are some corridors where fixtures could require more durability, for those instances, we recommend the V50 series.

v50-door-clipped.png

V50 Series

Ideal for potentially rough environments such as recreational facilities, schools, supervised behavioral centers, or other vandal prone areas.

Impact-resistant prismatic lens with polycarbonate overlay provides added security.

Tamper-resistant screws secure door frame.

Wet Location Ready

Typical SCA Part Number: V50-G-S22-L23/835-F-VLF

V50 Calculation.png

100ft Corridor

In this example, using the V50 with a polycarbonate/acyrlic lens we were able to meet design required light level and LPD with fixtures 8ft on center.

Stairwells

Light Level Requirements: 20 FC average maintained with an LPD of 0.5W/sq. ft.

The SCA design guide calls for a 4’ wrap style luminaire with a vandal-resistant lens. These fixtures require luminaire installed supplied occupancy sensors.

Unoccupied = 50% / Occupied = 100%

AVX

Vandal-resistant linear wrap with tamper resistant screws and durable build. Corner mount available.

Recommended Part Number:

AVX-4-L62/835-WPC-OCCWS FS-505-PP-VOLTAGE-DIM-UNV-TPSN-8 TOOL
