Here’s Your Guide To The Best LEDucation Ever
LEDucation is the most important industry-wide trade show of the year. It's truly gone from a local New York show to a national program. But for New York City specifiers who still rely on education to get an overview of the industry, how do you make the most effective use of your time? That's why I've created this complete (and in no way self-serving) guide to having the best education ever.
Monday April 13th
Kick off with RBW
Join us to celebrate the annual gathering of the North American lighting industry AND the launch of RBW’s Spring Collection.
Tuesday April 14th
Start Your Day with Designer Hours 9:00 AM - 11:30AM
After years of feedback, the team at the DLFNY has launched Designer Hours. These hours will be reserved only for designers, so they will have less crowded time to see the manufacturers that matter most. So Join Me in America’s Hall Two For Designer Hours. Use the form below to sign up. When you sign up for designer hours (see the form below), I will send you a tailored list of must-see booths based on your firm’s design work. When you show up, not only will you be eligible to win an SDA raffle, but I will also send a special thank-you to everyone who signs up and shows up for Designer Hours with SDA.
Join Me for a Panel Discussion
I am so happy to be speaking again at LEDucation, but this time, it’s not just me. I’m hosting an amazing panel of lighting designers from all across the project spectrum to discuss a topic I’ve been thinking about for a long time. The difference between lighting design and consultation. I don't want to spoil it yet, but in our world of constant value engineering, does it make sense to parse out a service like lighting design from lighting consultation? The answers from my lighting designers might surprise you. Head over to the LEDucation site to learn more and add it to your itinerary.

Dinner Plans?
My friend Wayne from Insight Lighting and I are hosting a small dinner on Tuesday evening. Find yourself short on dinner plans? Email me.
Party Time
I know there are a million parties to go to, even just among the SDA factories; there are four events. I’ve narrowed it down to two for you. First up (and starting early), our friends at Avi-On know that you might need to take a break from the very crowded show floor. Starting at 3PM right down the block at The Three Monkeys, it’s Happy Hour o’clock.
The Main Event - The Lumenwerx Retro Party
The last few LEDucation parties at Spyscape have been a blast, but this year, Lumenwerx is promising a whole new experience. You have to come check it out.
Wednesday April 15th - The Day to See Product
Here’s my theory. Tuesday is going to be an absolute rush. Everyone will be fresh in town, designer hours are happening, and no one will have partied much yet. The following day will be a much more relaxed day to deep dive. Use the form below to let me know a rough time you plan to attend, and I will plan tours for you and your colleagues. If you’ve done this with me before, you know I like to curate a fast and effective tour tailored to what you want to see. Remember, Wednesday is a shorter day, so plan ahead!
