How One Lighting Manufacturer is Helping Designers Make Spaces Sparkle and Glow
This week I’m up with a post about graypants. This Seattle based manufacturer focuses on craft and materiality to help designers realize their visions. In this video, I hit on just three of their product families.
Scraplights - this is the product that launched graypants by using corrugated cardboard with a fire-safe coating. They were able to create sculptural pieces in an amazing variety of shapes and sizes. These are also compatible with either E26-based screw-in bulbs or integrated LEDs.
Chrona - inspired by the eclipse, the Chrona family is a beautiful metallic object with a ring of light. What turns this into an architectural element is how it is mounted. Whether it's suspended, surface-mounted, or freestanding, this beautiful disk of light adds depth to any space.
Loci - these points of light can be shrouded in acrylic, glass, or other shading materials in squares, rectangles, or spheres. When hung from individual points and power cables, they can be turned into beautiful sculptural shapes that float within a space.
Give the video above a watch. I think you'll be amazed not just by these collections but also by their custom capabilities. If you need help on a future project, go ahead and reach out to me. In the meantime, if you have feedback on this video and you shoot me an email, I'll get you a free cup of coffee.
